Facts and Figures

"Post-Millennials (aka Generation Z) are more likely than earlier generations to be pursuing college. In 2017, 59% of 18- to 20-year-olds who were no longer in high school were enrolled in college. Among Millennials and Gen Xers at similar ages smaller shares were pursuing college (53% and 44%, respectively)." This increase has been driven by large gains among women, Hispanics and blacks.

Nearly 34,000 people have applied in 2018 for student loan forgiveness through the $350 million "fix-it" fund; just 26 borrowers have been approved.

...and: the "LIFE Magazine: Interesting Page of the Month" - from November 6, 1964 (pg. 30)
Brad's thoughts - I understand advertising—particularly for sports cars, alcohol, supplements, etc—has long appealed to ego and an idealized "look how popular you could be!" scenario. But as a person who actually works in a "small mid-western city", were we ever such rubes that we couldn't tell that this ad was way over the top? I understand the appeal of wall-to-wall carpeting and vinyl upholstery can be life-changing, but still.
